Terms and Conditions



These Terms & Conditions govern the sale and purchase of tickets via the Parlour website, www.parlourgigs.com.au, and any other URL owned and operated by Parlour from time to time (“Site”).

The Site is owned and operated by Parlour Gigs Pty Ltd (ACN 604 202 235) (“Parlour”, “We”, “Our” and “Us”).

By purchasing tickets via the Site you are deemed to have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions. Parlour reserves the right to change these Terms & Conditions at any time without notice.

Tickets for all Parlour Gigs are sold exclusively via the Site.

Parlour is a web platform devoted to house concerts. We connect artists with hosts and empower them to create unique entertainment experiences together.

  1. Definitions

The following definitions are used within these Terms & Conditions:

‘Artist’ means an artist who performs at a Parlour Gig.

‘Guest’ means a person who has purchased a valid ticket to a Parlour Gig via the Site.

‘Host’ means the person hosting a Parlour Gig at their house or other venue.

‘Parlour Gig’ means a gig which is organised by a Host and promoted via the Parlour Site.

‘Ticket Target’ means the minimum value of ticket sales that need to be achieved for a particular Parlour Gig before that Parlour Gig goes ahead. The Ticket Target is set by the Parlour in its sole discretion.

  1. General

In selling tickets via the Site, Parlour is acting as a ticketing agent for the Host of that Parlour Gig and accordingly, to the fullest extent permitted by law, Parlour is not liable for any claims relating to any Parlour Gig or ticket purchase, unless stated otherwise within these Terms & Conditions.

  1. Conditions of Sale

All tickets for Parlour Gigs are sold via the Site on a first come first served basis and once a Parlour Gig is showing as ‘sold out’ no further tickets will be offered for sale. For the avoidance of doubt, no tickets will be available on ‘the door’ of any Parlour Gig.

It is acknowledged that the Host has the right (in their sole discretion) to decline any person who has purchased a ticket for the relevant Parlour Gig up to 24 hours prior to the Parlour Gig. In the event that a Host declines you as a Guest your sole remedy shall be a refund for that Parlour Gig.

Each Parlour Gig has a Ticket Target which is set by Parlour. In the event that the Ticket Target is not reached before 48 hours prior to the relevant Parlour Gig, that Parlour Gig will be cancelled and all tickets purchased will be refunded.

All tickets are emailed to the Guest’s nominated email address and are downloadable onto the Guest’s phone or available to print out. It is the Guest’s responsibility to present a valid ticket at the Parlour Gig for admission.

Parlour Gig tickets may not be re-sold, offered for re-sale, be on-sold at a premium, offered as a prize or inducement, packaged or otherwise used for advertising, promotional or other commercial purposes, or given to any person other than the Guest named on the ticket, without the prior written consent of the Parlour, which may be withheld in Parlour’s absolute discretion.

  1. Conditions of Entry

A Guest must hold a valid ticket purchased via the Site and produce valid photo identification which corresponds with the name on the ticket in order to be admitted to any Parlour Gig.

The Host reserves the right to refuse entry to any Guest who does not hold a valid ticket, valid photo identification, who arrives late, who is intoxicated, or who is not on the approved guest list.

Parlour and the Host reserve the right to eject any Guest from the Parlour Gig (in their sole discretion) in accordance with the Live Performance Australia Guidelines.

The Host shall be entitled to only admit latecomers to a Parlour Gig during a suitable break, or as determined by the Host in its sole discretion. It is your responsibility as a Guest to be on time to the gig to avoid missing the Parlour Gig in any part or in its entirety.

The Host reserves the right to determine whether a Guest may or may not bring cameras or other recording equipment to a Parlour Gig. Any restrictions in relation to cameras and recording equipment will be notified to the Guest prior to, or at the commencement of the Parlour Gig.

Guests agree to have their mobile phones on ‘silent’ during all Parlour Gigs.

Guests are required to retain their tickets throughout a Parlour Gig and may be asked to present their ticket at any time during the Parlour Gig.

By purchasing a ticket for any Parlour Gig, you grant Parlour permission to film or photograph you at the Parlour Gig, and to reproduce that film or photograph in any audio, video or photographic display or other transmission, exhibition, publication or reproduction in any medium or context in Parlour’s sole discretion, without further authorisation by, or payment to, you.

  1. Refunds, exchanges and replacements

Subject to the further terms of this Clause 5, all tickets purchased via the Site are non-refundable and non-exchangeable unless the Host permits a refund or exchange, or unless the Host is legally required to do so. In the event that the Host does provide a refund or exchange, it may be subject to certain conditions and additional fees.

Parlour and/or the Host are under no obligation to replace lost or stolen tickets for any Parlour Gigs.

In the event that a Parlour Gig is cancelled for any reason including where the Ticket Target is not reached, tickets for that particular Parlour Gig shall be refunded.

Parlour and/or the Host shall be under no obligation to arrange a substitute or replacement Parlour Gig.

In the event that a Parlour Gig is re-scheduled, you will be contacted via your nominated email address and notified of such re-schedule. It is your responsibility as a Guest to ensure that you keep your contact details up to date on the Site. The Host and/or Parlour shall not be responsible for failure to contact you in the event that your contact details have changed and you have not updated your contact information on the Site. In the event that a Parlour Gig is re-scheduled you shall not be entitled to a refund or exchange unless agreed by the Host, or required by law.

  1. Variations to Parlour Gigs

The Host reserves the right to vary, substitute or withdraw advertised programs, Artists, venues and seating arrangements as necessary for any Parlour Gig.

The Host reserves the right to change/vary the price, venue, seating, and capacity, at any Parlour Gig.

Any changes or variations to any Parlour Gig shall be notified to the Guest prior to the Parlour Gig via the Site.

  1. Payment & Purchase of Tickets

All ticket sales are in Australian dollars and are stated exclusive of GST.

Parlour accepts the following methods of payment for ticket purchases via the Site: PayPal and Stripe.

All bank charges and fees incurred by a Guest in connection with the purchase of a Parlour Gig ticket shall be the sole responsibility of the Guest.

  1. Limitation of Liability

Entry to and attendance to a Parlour Gig is at your sole risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Parlour shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, harm or injury arising from any Guest’s, Host’s or Artist’s entry, attendance or performance at any Parlour Gig.

  1. Privacy

Parlour Gigs collects your individual information so it may contact you in the event of cancellation or variation to a Parlour Gig. All personal information is held by Parlour in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

These Terms and Conditions incorporate and are to be read in conjunction with Parlour’s Site Terms of Use and the Parlour Privacy Policy.

  1. Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions and the access and use of the Site shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Victoria, Australia. By accessing and using the Site, you accept that any dispute under these Terms & Conditions or arising out of access and/or use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Victorian Courts in Australia and by accessing and/or using the Site, you hereby submit to the jurisdiction of such courts for such purposes.

You are solely responsible for compliance with any applicable laws of the country from which you access the Site.

Any complaints or queries in relation to the Parlour Gig, venue or Artist should be directed to the Host of that particular Parlour Gig directly. Parlour takes no responsibility in relation to any issues concerning any Parlour Gig other than as stated in these Terms & Conditions.
